a lot of times throughout the day my router (netgear rangemax - 802.11g) has a weak connection. i am aware that my particular router "searches" for the best connection, but i am unsure if it is providing me with the best connection.

my computer (dell inspiron 700m) is on the second floor and the router is on the first, on the other side of the house.

here is a picture of my situation: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2nsp99d&s=4

  1. Buy an internet booster

  2. go to a computer store or here is a website that sells antennas

that you can attach to your router www.data-alliance.net

make sure you do your research before you buy the right one

but a 5 db in your local store should boost your signal 15 percent stronger.

  3. You could look into a newer router. If you swap your "G" router for an "N" type, you should get a better signal throughout your house.

  4. you can buy a better antenna for the router
