last night i was watching something on the news called

"how to buy a child in 10 hours" and it went undercover on how a man from new york travelled to Haiti and litterally got 3 offers to buy a chile (girl 10-12) for less than $150 dollars, and the man said that after he "bought" her, he could do whatever he wanted to the girl. Then it showed all about modern slavery and how families who couldn't afford their children, dropped them off to work for families in the city who beat them up with whips and electical wires if they did anything wrong. It also said today, there are more slaves than there has ever been in history, which completley shocked me! How come in 2008, there are more slaves than there were on the plantations in the 1700's, and the Atlantic Slave Trade ect., I mean I thought we had learned and evolved from that! I want to get involved and helping with this case. Any ideas!? because unlike hurricane relief or bettter education, i don't think just money will help very much

  1. I think its very commendable of you to feel this way and I would not have liked seeing the programme you saw.

There is not much you can do, unfortunately this is the way of the world and I think the reason that no one has left you any answers to your question is because there is no answer.

This has to come from the Haiti Government assuming it is aware of this child trafficking.

You could write to this Government and express your views and maybe if you could get a petition set up with lots and lots and lots of signatures you could send that on.

Get in touch with the news station and get some more information from them, if this has moved you so much then you need to get involved in the best way you can.

    Good luck.
