Of course we can recycle, reuse, not liter, and all the obviouse things. But if you know of any other ways that most people don't mention, that would be great if you could give me a few examples. Sometimes I feel like I can do a bit more so help the Earth...thanks

  1. You can get a daily "green tip" or suggestion, plus a link to a blog about each day's subject, if you sign up to receive the Sierra Club's "Green Life" emails.  The address is www.green.life@sierraclub.org

  2. There are many things that can be done, and I have lots of info that I think you will find quite helpful and enlightening:

http://ecowellness.multiply.com/  for excellent inspirational info within my blog to help not only our world and its creatures, but to also open peoples hearts and minds to many amazing wonders that life has to offer.  I also have lots of info in my blog to help fuel peoples imaginations to many possibilities that can be found only in the minds eye.

Along with lots of environmental info, amazing environmental pictures and videos (These videos show the beauty of this world and what life can be like if people take the time to appreciate life’s true beauty).

Let us all strive for a greener/brighter future by helping to create a solid foundation for future generations to build upon, so we can hand them a beautiful world, filled with never ending awe and wonders!!

Where peoples differences and uniqueness are accepted, where we all live as one, helping one another so that we can all play our own mysteriously beautiful melodies in the never ending, awe inspiring, song of life :-)

I truly have faith in humanity and believe that someday our lives and the world in which we live will truly be transformed for the better.

  3. Any little things that you see, hear, think, ust do it. You can't save the planet by yourself. It's together that we do it with our own efforts all along the day.

  4. basically, consume less.

  5. If you own a house and it's sited well for solar electric generation, that would be a step in the right direction.

  6. Well, right now the biggest thing I'm doing for the environment is using a lunchbox daily instead of throwing away a paper bag every day like i used to. I know it doesn't sound big, but it helps. Also to produce less waste you can use a stainless steel fork or spoon instead of those disposable ones.

Another thing you can do is tie a brick in a plastic bag and put on in all your toilet tanks. This save one gallon per flush!

  7. Take shorter showers. Use a rake instead of a leaf blower. Buy organic foods. Don't use synthetic fertilizers. Water plants in the evening to reduce evaporation. Compost your food. Reuse ink cartridges up to four times. Turn the lights off when you leave the room. Switch your bulbs to compact fluorescents. Unplug things you are not using (they still draw a small amount of power). Turn off your computer's monitor when you aren't using it. Use 100% recycled paper. Invest in green funds. Borrow things instead of buying them. Buy second-hand clothes (usually you help poor people, too). Use rechargeable batteries instead of disposable ones. Buy food in the largest possible size to avoid excess waste from packaging. Refuse plastic grocery bags and use reusable ones instead. Eat less beef (it's very resource-intensive). Buy only the food you need and eat all the food you buy. Buy foods that don't need any packaging such as fresh fruits and vegetables. Buy fair-trade coffee. Plant a tree. Only buy appliances with a high Energy Star rating. Buy natural cleaners instead of chemical-laden ones. Buy clothes made with organic cotton, wool, or hemp. Eat produce that's in season. Bike or walk instead of driving. Dry clothes on a clothesline instead of a dryer in the spring and summer. Take public transportation. Next time you buy a car get a hybrid. Install solar panels and get some even for something as small as a cell phone charger (if you can get the larger kind). Support local businesses. "Waste not, Want not." And you already mentioned reduce, reuse, recycle.
