  1. Use the school resources. School counselors are paid for this specific purpose. Also there is a lot of federal aid.

  2. I think you may afford to buy a  lottery, and

    hope to win at.

It might not work for sure, but hope, and belief in noble fortune makes you feel good

for a while, failure will make you feel bad only a few minute.

  3. Pray my son.

  4. If your son has good grades throughout high school and tests well on the SAT or ACT, he will be admitted to some very good colleges.

I think your question is really more about how you can help you son pay for college if you are receiving SSI payments. I would definitely recommend your son applying for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). He would do so during his senior year of high school, while he is applying to colleges.

Federal financial aid is based on your income and other finances. If you earn less than a certain amount, the federal government will offer your son grants, loans, and work study to help pay for college. This financial help along with attending a good, affordable school (and yes, they do exist) should make things easier for your son, financially.

It seems like your son has a parent who cares about him and his education, which will definitely get him far. Good luck to both of you.

  5. Go to the Library.  Let the librarian know that you need the Reference Section to look up Scholarships, or Grants.  They may have Braille reference books that you can read.  If not, Demand it!
