  1. U can do jumping drills over and over.  These will build your calf muscles and they will give you better explosion.  After you work out or run try doing about 300 small jumps where you barely leave the ground.

  2. Maybe build your leg muscles?

If you have stronger legs then you can push yourself higher.

  3. http://www.insidehoops.com/gym/jump-high...

follow this exercise. All my friends on my school basketball team have followed this and they can either dunk or touch rim now.

  4. keep on tiptoeing your foot in place 15 minutes a day

  5. Go to a good physical therapy place that works with athletes and start a plyometrics program.  If that is not in your budget, try getting a pair of "Jump soles" (google them).  If even that is not in your budget, incorperate sprints, lunges, toe jumps, calf raises, jump roping, and many other kinds of quick jumping into your exercise routine.  Look up "at home plyometrics" on the net.

  6. Alright listen to me, many of these answers are plain bull. seriously, ankle weights? tip toeing? Some of these things may help you get faster or simply build some strength, but if you want to be able to dunk at 5'5", you'll need to train smart and know what you're doing. Now if you want to dunk, you'll need to look into plyometrics. I would recommend you go see a doctor or a personal trainer before you start plyometrics because theres a possibility of injuring yourself. You must stay in top shape, and stay on a good diet. Stretching and a proper warm up is very important. Overall, if you're really determained to dunk at 5'5", i would see a personal trainer for sure, and get the plyometric program "athletic advantage", good luck

  7. The people above have good ideas, just jump and jump and do jumping drills.  If you want to build muscle, jump every other day.

I'm not sure if this will work but I've heard of it working.  If there's like a space outside in the backyard or something, dig a hole one inch deep and jump in and out of it for one day.  The next day, make the hole deeper and jump more.  The day after that, make it even deeper and jump more.

Just be careful if you're mowing the lawn that a hole's right there and you don't fall in. x[

  8. wow, that could be a challenge. im 5'9 male, 135 pounds, i have a average vertical,or even more. i run a 7.00 sec.55 meter dash. i dont really train my legs though. i can just barely touch backboard, with my running and full extension. i know people who can dunk or touch rim who r under 6'0, but it takes alot of effort, and hard work. You can workout n stuff but , i think the most you can do is probally touch is the backboard. But thats my opinion, its possible you could do better. ps. i did the math though, your total height with your arms up, and a ball in your hand is 76''. subtract that from 120''.. equals 44''. Add your vertical. Then take the sum and subtract from 120'' again.. the result is the amount of height you have to increase your jump by...................mine is 25'' more than 2 feet!.. but it can be possible

  9. wall sits

    regular jumping

    net touches

    squats/hands on head

    squats with bar behind head

    power rebounds

    palms on ceiling

    hope i helped ;]

  10. can you at least put your height and age?

its fun to  imagine but you may never be able to dunk .Sorry

  11. depends on how tall you are. but the exercise to perform would be "squat jumps". squat down low, then jump straight up. do this many times. then start holding weights and do this, progress with heavier weights.

this is a martial arts exercise. this will build all the muscles involved in jumping.

ankle weights won't help, you want to propell your body mass up, so you want the "sprung mass" heavier, not your "unsprung mass" (your legs).

  12. Be A Black Man

  13. First you should put on ankle weights and continue to practice jumping. Jump when your parents aren't at home in your house. See if you can touch your ceiling. Or assuming your ceiling is low, see if you can touch your ceiling with your elbows by jumping. Stretch a lot everyday and jump a lot.
