I quite like green beans but wish they would taste better. I had some on holiday in spain and they tasted gorgeous but couldn't quite guess what they were cooked in. Any ideas what to cook them in to make them taste better?

Thx

  1. as above sprinked with cracked peppercorns

  2. Steam them for approx 5 mins. then quickly fry in olive oil, garlic and sea salt

  3. put a little bacon in with them. cook them in a little bacon grease

  4. Steam them for about 2 minutes.  Remove from pan and spread on a baking sheet.  Brush with olive oil (just a little, no need to go overboard), add a touch of kosher salt and bake them at 400 for about 10 minutes.  They should still be bright green.  Put on your serving plate, sprinkle with bacon bits, chopped red onion and a dash of parmesan cheese.

Oh man, I'm getting hungry just thinking about them.  They are amazing.

  5. i absulutly h8 green beans 2 well, wat ive tried bfre is i put loads and loads of mayo or if u dnt like it ketchup try it hope i helped x

  6. My Itlatian friends used to taoss them in butter and lemon juice --really nice

  7. i love my roasted! snap fresh beans, drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper, celery seed and place in a 425 degree oven until tender....top with toasted almonds

  8. I suggest giving them a good buttering:

    # 1 k**b of butter

    # Salt

    # 1 large saucepan or frying pan

    # 1 spoon

  9. a bit of parmesean cheese or mozzerella cheese YUM....or a light vinegarette

  10. I like mine steamed with a bit of olive oil a pinch of garlic salt and sliced almonds.

  11. I always cook mine with a little powdered vegetable stock in the water rather than just salted water.  It really brings out the flavour and when they are done I drain them, return them to the pan and add a k**b of butter and leave to melt then give them a shake.  Green beans are one of my all time favourite veg and cooked like this I'm even happy to eat them cold!

  12. wash green beans and drain.

place beans in a casserole dish.

drizzle italian dressing over the beans, then season with a little salt, pepper and garlic powder.

chop a few pieces of bacon into bite size pieces and put on top of the beans (enough bacon to cover the beans-do not pre-cook the bacon)

crumble brown sugar on top of the bacon.

place dish in a pre-heated oven (350 degrees)

    for about 20 minutes.

This is so good and a different way to enjoy green beans!

  13. I just steam mine and then sprinkle them with garlic salt, yummy.

  14. saute them in a little garlic and butter. DELICIOUS(=

  15. Saute green beans in olive oil with chopped garlic and red pepper flakes and finish with lemon zest.  Boil green beans with chopped ham, onions and potatoes.  Never underestimate how much salt and pepper they need.  Green beans need a lot of salt/pepper and seasonings so don't be afraid to season them well.

  16. I always cook mine(either can or fresh) with butter, dill weed and 2 or 3 cubes of beef bouillon. My family and friends love it!

  17. Do u mean runner beans? If so, this is what we do here in Cyprus.

Fry 2 large onions  (sliced) in a little sunflower oil until golden. Put yr runner beans in, stir for a bit, add salt and pepper, tomatoe pureé and boiling water just to cover. Simmer on a low heat until cooked thru. Add more water if it reduces before they are cooked. Voila.
