In my old car i had 2 12inch rockford p2 subs. front speakers boston acoustics and back 2 pioneer and a sony deck. It sounded great. I just bought a new car which is a BMW 325i 2006 with harman kardon speakers, what can i do to make it sound as good or better then my previous car. I will buy subs but do i need to replace speakers because harman kardon is a good company?

  1. Sony=junk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... You can mix it up use alpine,MTX,kicker, and always use high-end connections

  2. Yes Harmon Kardon is a good company, but stock speakers ususally don't come close to being as good as the aftermarket competition.  Get a good set of front components and forget about the back.  You may have had good luck with Sony decks in the past, but most consider them at the bottom of the barrel in the car audio world.  Go for something better this time around like Eclipse or Alpine.

  3. i would upgrade in this order

    1. Audio Control Four.1 (EQ)

    2. Subs and amp

    3. Head Unit

    4. Interior speakers and amp

  4. Hey i tnd to fing mixing the brand up i.e pioneer/sony is the best sort of sound system you can get. In my car i have a sony deck, clarion 4"4s and pioneer 6"6s in the back with a 12" kicker sub and it is the bset souding stereo i have heard in years. In saying that if you want alot of clarity make sure you get three way speakers as just the 2 way speakers seem not to be able to handle it as much. At the end of the day it is your preference with your brands.
