  1. to run faster start of slow then give a burst of speed. run on your toes and pump your arms really fast to make yourself run faster.

  3. Well, first of all, you could start off in blocks....

    (That is if you weren't already doing that)

    Also you could work on your form.......

    Keep your head down until about 30m into the race, breath in from your nose out from your mouth.

    Pump those arms! I see WAY too many people flopping their arms back and forth. That is NOT good form, so DON'T BE LIKE THEM.

    Also keep your legs as high as your waist when you sprint. You can also try sprinting on your toes.

    When the race comes, STAY FOCUSED. After the gun blows, all you should be thinking of is "Turnover, Turnover, Faster, Faster, Push, Push!"

    Finally, invest in some decent running shoes (or spikes if you run in an all weather track). They don't have to be expensive. Just get a nice solid pair of shoes that you will use ONLY to run.
