What can i do to protect my legs in a VW bus crash.Front end?

  1. easy. don't tailgate. pay attention. hang up the phone.


  2. sit in the back, or lift your legs out of the way before they get crushed during the crash

  3. When you get the roll cage to hold the 5 point harness, see if they can fabricate some type of protection for the front part of the van that connects to the rollcage.  I'm sure with a little thought they can come up with something.

    Most of the injuries come from a frontal crash that shears the front metal back towards the driver.  I'd think that a couple of pieces angled (and maybe reenforced) down to keep the sheared metal from pushing back towards you legs.  

    Being careful helps, but, you can't control other drivers from making stupid mistakes.
