My eyes always get heavy and start to drop a little then I start sleeping for a minute then i wake up. This usually happens at around 10 AM and after lunch.

  1. Try getting some more sleep during the night. If you're bored in school this can cause you to be sleepy. Try focusing more on your classes and listening to your teachers. A short nap after school can be refreshing and help with falling asleep in class.

  2. -Sit up, don't allow yourself to rest your head on your hands or slouch.

-Take notes- keeps your mind busy, your hand busy, and helps you pay attention.

-Chew gum, or eat sour candies.

-Make sure your eating healthy, and you can never go wrong with taking a vitamin in the morning.

    Avoid sugars and caffine.

As you probably know, they work for a bit to give you energy, but then you just crash.

And of course, get to bed early.

In fact, I recommend going to bed early enough you can wake up on your own without having an urge to go back to sleep.

Normally when I HAVE to wake up I'm tired through out the whole day, but if I go to bed at like 10 and naturally wake up at like 6, I feel more awake the whole day.

  3. Just tell your teacher that you are having a hard time staying awake and ask if you can stand up in the back of the room so that you don't fall asleep. I am sure that your teacher would help you to stay awake because they want you to listen.

  4. chew gum

  5. Drink a couple energy drinks before you go to school.

  6. the only way i could do it was by staring for a veryy long time and just listening. not blinking or anything, like im asleep but listening. i know weird but i got good grades so w/e. i hardly slept at night though

  7. well... the only thing that gets me going (and i have a baby and get NO sleep.. ) is diet pepsi max.  i'm sure its not the healthiest route, but it definitely picks me up without the crash later...

otherwise, try getting exactly 8 hours of sleep.  no more, no less.  eat a healthy breakfast.. things that will make you more awake instead of tired.. try to stay away from sugar because it'll pick u up and then you will crash around 10.. like you do.. do you eat sugary cereal? and sugar at lunch?

do you have other symptoms?  maybe its diabetes related.. thats a far stretch, but just a thought.  just watch what you eat.. and try to keep yourself occupied even if it means doodling.  take notes.  try to get involved so that you literally cant fall asleep.. and let your teacher know whats up so she doesnt write you up or anything for falling asleep.

    good luck!
