What can i do to stop my lower back from hurting.?

i have worked my way up to run (in actuality jog), but my back has been buging me. what can i do to stop my lower back from bugin'? in case you wanted to know, i stretch thoroughly.

  1. Do some planks, superman's, and various crunches. They will strengthen both your back and abs, making you a better runner. Happy Running!


  2. I'm not an expert, but that happened to me a while back too. What happened (to me) was my back wasn't very strong, because the sports I was doing before that, didn't use my back very much, therefore when I started a sport that DID use my back, it hurt.

    There's some "strength exercises" that help strengthen your back. Try googling it, because there's a lot of them. Just google "back strength exercises".

    One that I do is you get in the position that you would do a push-up in, but instead of having your hands on the ground, elbows stretched out, you put your elbows, arm, and hand on the ground (toes touching the ground, but not the rest of your body). And just hold it there for almost as long as you can stand it. Do it about once a day, and you will eventually get stronger in that area, and you will be able to hold it longer.

    There's alot of them out there.
