  1. tour guide for a museum

  2. There are plenty of things you can do with a history qualification. You can work in a National Archive, or a library, you can work in policy, city councils, research analyst, foreign affairs work....

The degree hones in on your analytical and communication skills. You learn to come up with original ideas, reason, argue, interpret and use evidence, and most importantly, effectively communicate.

Lots of employees appreciate those skills.

Do what you enjoy rather than having a mid-life crisis in twenty years!

(Might I also add that university history is awesome!)

  3. Follow your interests and things will open up as you go. A history major is a good major for a general education. It opens doors in all kinds of areas. Lots of jobs require a bachelor's degree--in anything. Once you get that far, you'll see many opportunities, and by then your interests may have changed. Try to be diligent with what you have to do now and not try to think so far into the future.

  4. I feel the same way, I love history. But my 2nd choice is chemistry. Theres not alot you can do with a history major except teach it. So go with a career your 2nd choice subject is involved in. I plan on being a pharmacist (b/c of chemistry) and retire from that and get a history major and become a history teacher.
