  1. You can work for relief organizations, international groups and such.  The IMF and World Bank both employ anthropologists.  You could also work for your nation's diplomatic corps.

  2. Hi.  One thing you can do is to practice what is called "applied anthropology."  That is where you use the principles of anthropology to solve real-world problems, such as determine the effect of development programs on third-world populations or recommend how best to structure a public space.  The field of applied anthropology is very big.  Here are a few great links that explain the field and employment opportunities:

    Hope this helps.

Find your local Library at http://lists.webjunction.org/libweb/Publ...

  3. You can also work for a museum, do research (though many research positions have teaching duties), many areas employ a local archaeologist or anthropologist to supervise local excavations.

In my case, I majored in archaeology; and I now work in IT.  So its not like you have to go with the schooling...

Talk with your advisor about career possibilities; (s)he'll have some other possibilities of things you can do with your major.

  4. I had a friend that was an ANT. major and became a museum curator straight out of school.  Forensic ANT sounds really interesting too.
