  1. A few head kicks, hip tosses, and broken limbs

  2. Are you looking for an excellent form of discipline? Do you like the idea of stimulating your mind, body, and spirit while simultaneously getting a full-body workout? We knew you would. So, what do you do when 'life happens' and you lead a busy lifestyle? Well, where there's a problem, there's a solution. When someone thinks of taking lessons to learn the ins and outs of the martial arts, they typically go through some of the barriers and stereotypical responses that people have. Some will say that if you're not a child that it's too late to learn. Others will say that unless you're training to get in the ring and fight in major tournaments that you shouldn't waste your time.

  3. Depends on the style but typically shown etiquette/respect for instructor,Dojo and fellow students, stretching exercises, stance training, various punches and kick techniques, Kata and sparring training one, two, and three step and then once your ready free style sparring.

  4. I suggest you research schools/types of Karate. Most forms are not good for out on the streets. When you find what you want, always wear a T-shirt (regular neck style) under the uniform top.You would have the same from the majority of forms of MA's,standard stances;cat stance, horse stance(main),fighting stance(s),set ways to punch/kick,types /ways to punch/kick.Rigid/Set forms/patterns of movement. I included a list of MA's below.Where are you?Are you near Indiana?

  5. That is a very broad question, but if you will take the opinion of 22years instructing, I will try to answer. The number one rule for karate and everything else in the world is, you can expect as much as you are willing to give. As in time and effort. If you find a legitament instructor, who teaches how to condition your body, use the techniques taught in real life situations, improve your overall physical, mental, and emotional self-esteem, and give you a well rounded curriculum that may be adapted to suit you and your abilities, then the benefits are priceless. You will not be spending your money, but investing it into something that will continue to benefit you as long as you practice. If you can find a traditional style, stick with it. Noone has ever lived long enough to learn all they can from one style. Personally I recommend the traditional Okinawan styles and the Filipino stick and blade styles like I teach. Every day I learn something new in what I am practicing, sometimes from my students! The teaching you will recieve from a LEGITAMENT instructor will serve you in all walks of life. It is about empowerment with humility and honor.Keep away from someone teaching a mixture of too many styles or sport styles. One contradicts and the other is for the arena.I hope this helps in some small way. For what I teach, go to www.shadowhawkblades.com and follow the links to my school sites as well. Good luck in your hunting for an instructor.
