What can i feed my baby platy fry

i have a pregnant platy and i was wondering if my platy fry will eat the flake crums at the bottem of the cup that are so tiny cuz i dont have any first bites and i just looked on the petsmart website and they dont have any and petco is to far away thanks for you help oh before i forget i have had my platy for about twenty one or twenty two days and she was pregnant when i got her and i did not know that cuz she had such a tiny normal belly and from telling you that how long until she give birth cuz i need it to be within the next 2 weeks b4 i go on vaca so please anwser those question

Well as most other live bearers do she should give birth very soon. 28 days is the typical pregnancy. so i don't think that will be a problem. as for feeding them you can feed them the tiny flakes yes and they don't even need to eat for the first day or two but after that feed them atleast4 times a day but no more than 8 times. you can also feed mashed up hard boiled egg yolk. just boil an egg remove the white put the yolk in a baggy , add water and crush until it looks and feels like a paste.


  2. Yes, platy fry are large enough that they'll eat small crushed up pieces of flake food.  Baby brine shrimp is another option, you can buy that frozen.  

    And they're gestation period is about 28 days, give or take a few either side of that.
