My son dumped the whole container of betta food [pellets] and i cant get to the store untill thursday or friday. I have goldish flakes and tropical fish flakes. Can i feed them either of these or would it be better to just leave them untill i can give them food made for them. I love these fish to death and dont want them to get sick or die!

  1. if you just have a betta fish in a bowl, then you are first of all a horrible person, fish deserve better than that. but also, never put in flakes unless there is a filter. A betta fish in a bowl probably gets very little exercise, so he doesn't need much energy to survive. If you don't feed him until thursday or friday, he will be completely fine.

If you have a betta fish in a heated, filtered 5g tank, you are awesome for giving a betta fish a life that is worth living. But in that case, it probably swims around a lot and is happy and uses lots of energy. You should buy some peas, broccoli, or lettuce, blanch them, and then cut them into little tiny pieces, and then feed them to the betta fish. I would highly recommend broccoli, because you don't need to cut it up, just rub or pick the flowers off and the betta can eat them whole.

  2. betta's don't starve from having no food for 2 weeks, so they wont die... you could try feeding them tropical fish flakes but i wouldn't advise it, also when u go to the store get some blood worms, they like them better, well aat leastmine do
