  1. Stop feeding those pellets. Look for a timothy based pellet without any of the color pieces and seeds. http://www.guinealynx.info/pellets.html this site can tell you more about what to look for in pellets and what to avoid.

My piggies like dark leafy greens. I feed them romaine, red leaf, kale, spinach(not a lot of kale and spinach, they can cause sludge and stones if fed to often.)

www.guineapigcages.com has a veggie chart that list a lot of veggies you can feed and how often you can feed them.

  2. straw berrys ,celery ,qucombers ant thing thats like that and not acidicy

  3. lettecuce, carrots all that healthy stuff i dont like to eat

  4. I have tried all sorts of food, i even tried rabbit food, i have taken and left advice given to me. What i found was that rabbit food, hartz and miner brand guinea pig foods all gave my piggies upset tummies and made them lose the pretty shine in thier coats. I tried Kaytee supreme because the price was resonable and it is a big brand. my piggies love it, they have the shine back in thier coats and are very active and healthy. I also like Small world alot. i tried Mazura, it was OK, but not wonderful. I am actually interested to learn what people don't like in Kaytee, i want the best for my piggies, but i think it is fine. Forti-diet tends to be a little strong though, i would mix in some plain Kaytee pellets with it. As for snacks, mine love hay, grass, fruit leaves and berry leaves, berries, apple, cellery, dry bread, cucumber and carrots.

  5. I used to give my guinea pig alfalfa and grass, you could try those or other greens

  6. First, stop feeding Forti-Diet. Kaytee's diets are some of the worst small animal diets out there and a lot of them contain a dangerous preservative called ethoxyquin.

Oxbow puts out high quality guinea pig diets: http://www.oxbowhay.com/index.sp

Do not feed iceberg lettuce as it has little nutrients and a lot of moisture which can cause the runs.

    Fresh foods you can feed:

  7. i hope your not giving it iceberg lettuce bc that is not good for them. look on this website http://www.guinealynx.info/charts.html

it has a vegetable guide and fruits they can eat

  8. You should feed your guinea pigs 1 cup of guinea pig pellets a day, unlimited timothy hay, and 1 cup of veggies a day. Occasionally fruit. Forti-diet isnt good guinea pig food and if you want your guinea pig healthy I recommend you get one of these timothy based pellets.... I'm feeding my 4 guinea pigs right now oxbow pellets which I think is the best and healthiest pellets out there... you can buy online or up on the right corner is a store locater so you can find a local pet shop by you that has oxbow food items...http://www.oxbowhay.com/index.sp

And for the timothy hay any is good but some are fresher then others and dont carry any bad dirt in it. The best are probably hay by the bale, km timothy hay, or oxbow western timothy hay (which I feed my guinea pigs). And sometimes for a treat you can feed them ochard hay. And for veggies... a guinea pig should get veggies daily. You can feed them almost all the veggies accept for some like Iceberg lettuce which you want to stay away from. Guinea Pigs like the most is leafy veggies like romaine lettuce, green leaf lettuce, parsley, cilantro, spinach, and etc. And you can feed them other veggies too like carrots, cucumbers, peppers, and etc. And for a treat also you can feed your guinea pig fruits weekly. Don't feed them often though because it is very watery. Some fruits you can feed your guinea pig is oranges,bananas,grapes,watermelon,apples... etc. A great website you should visit to do more research on guinea pigs is http://www.guinealynx.info/. Hope I helped!

  9. Basically any kind of fruits or vegetables are wonderful for them! Watch the greens though, it may make them a little gassy and give them the runs. (And believe me! You dont want that!)

    No icebergs lettuce

    radishes

    tomatoe stems

    potatoes

    no meat

dont give them any human junk food!

Please do give lots of timothy and alfalfa hay!

  10. be careful....certain types of lettuce aren't good for them..............

..............um, you can give them cucumbers, spinach, cabbage, ...

.....and I also give mine Timothy Hay...(you could probably get it at your local pet store)
