You can make some red beans and rice with cornbread, or smothered potatoes and corn. I love pork chops :)

peel and slice apples

melt 3 tablespoons of butter on low add apples,top with 3 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnimon cover and let cook until tender.

How can you resist au gratin potatoes or macaroni & cheese or mashed potatoes.  Also, either green peas, green beans or corn.  Bread and butter.  Applesauce as a side for the kids.

Try sauteing apples and carrots together.  Sometimes I put raisins in too.

if you like starches, i read about Cajun Grilled Potato Wedges on a blog today. they sounded really good... i'll probably give them a shot this week. if you make them, let me know what you think! it sounds like a healthier version of the french fry... home-made. here's the link:

I would fix a nice salad with romaine lettuce, green onion, tomato, grated cheese and dressing of your choice. And any kind of starch you wanted, baked potato, mashed potatoes, rice, garlic bread, etc. If you wanted you could put another vegetable in that'd be nice - corn, lima beans, collard greens or turnip greens.
