What can i have with rice?....?

i have different flavoured rice but never know what to make to have with rice??

you can make chicken on the side for rice. or you can make orange chicken with the side of white rice.

Use Purple rice. It's so flavorful that you don't have to have something with it. (Trust me. I eat it every day as an Intel intern in their cafeteria)

You can eat rice with anything.  

Meats like chicken, pork, steak.  

Eat it with veggies on the side.  Black beans over top.  Make a tomato and onion salad and put it on top of the rice.  The juices from the tomato give the rice wonderful flavoring.

Stir fry some veggies and serve over top of rice.  

Add rice to soups instead of noodles.  

Cook some fish baked, broiled, fried and eat with rice.  

You can eat rice with anything, just consider it a side dish anything you would normally eat a baked potato or mashed potato with can be subbed for rice.

I always like vegetables with my rice. I'm from the south. I like green beans, collard greens, purple hull peas, mashed potatoes and gravy when I have rice. If it is a meat flavor then you don't need a meat with your meal unless you just want it. I like to grill chicken, cut it into chunks and put it in plain white rice. It all depends on what kind of rice you have.  You can add chicken to your chicken rice.  Last night I took a box of rice and cooked it up.    while it was doing its thing I warmed up some leftover steaks from the night before and a few extra veggies added to the rice when it was done.   it was real good

i usually have chicken with rice.  reagardless of the flavor of the rice.  OR meatloaf.

Chicken Scampi

(easy but delicious and elegant)

1/2 cup butter

1/4 cup olive oil

1 tsp dried parsley

1 tsp dried basil

1/4 tsp dried oregano

3 cloves garlic, minced

3/4 tsp salt

1 Tbsp lemon juice

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, sliced lengthwise into thirds

In a skillet heat the butter and olive oil on medium high heat until butter is melted. Add parsley, basil, oregano, garlic and salt and mix together. Stir in lemon juice.

Then add chicken pieces and saute for 3 minutes or until white. Lower the heat and cook for about 10-15 mintues or until chicken is cooked through. More butter can be added if needed. Serve chicken over hot angel hair, or other pasta and pour some of the sauce over it all.

Make sure you have some bread to 'sop' up the sauce! This is really good and so quick and easy, but it has a nice presentation on the plate.
