  1. Take a pound of chicken breast and place them in a casserole dish.  Add about 3 handfuls of rice (the amount doesn't matter too much, but probably about 1c).  Take a can of a cream based soup (I like cream of mushroom, but celery or chicken or anything else works too) and mix it with 1/2 a can of chicken broth.  Add any seasonings you like (I like garlic, black pepper, and red pepper).  Pour the soup over the chicken and rice and bake it for about 45 minutes at 375, or until the chicken is cooked.  Add some of your favorite shredded cheese on top (I use cheddar) and enjoy!

The amounts aren't exact because it just depends on how much you want to make-you can make it for yourself or a whole family.  If you want veggies in it too, you can add broccoli, green beans, or peppers to the chicken and rice at the beginning.  It's easy and tastes great!

  2. Here are 8,000+ recipes using rice:

  3. Cook the rice in chicken stock instead of water.

add some peas or green beans carrots if you like them (go for veggies that you like) and chicken and you have a meal in a pot

tomato sauce (in place of half the water) and chili seasoning throw in a can of black beans

  4. I love rice!  My favorite quick rice dish is fried rice.  Pre-cook the rice and fry the chicken.  I fluff up rice that has completely cooled.  In a frying pan put in about a tablespoon of margarine or butter.  Add to the hot pan the amount of cooked chicken that you would like - one chicken breast will be plenty for two generous servings.  Also add about two to three sliced green onions.  (I like to add more.)  They should be bubbling in the butter, and then scoop in the cooked rice.  3 - 4 cups.  (I use a non-stick pan, as I like to use less fat.)  Turn the rice over as it heats through, mixing the onions and chicken throughout the rice.  Add soy sauce as you are turning - not too much, I like mine a little tannish in color, and more can be added at the table.  (I do not over-handle the rice, as it will become mushy and broken-down.)  Heat rice through and serve.

You can add al-dente cooked veggies to this, or a scrambled egg.  I am not so fond of that, but others like it.

  5. It's over 9000!!!

seriously though, i figure get some meat (chicken, pork) frozen veggies, garlic, sesame oil, and soy sauce mix it and fry it together, then serve it with your rice. add some sweet and sour if you want. I don't have an exact recipe, but I think its best to experiment with these kinds of things till you find out the combo you like.

  6. I usually make rice and chicken and use mushroom soup as the sauce (I don't like mushrooms either, but the soup is good).  But you could use cream of broccoli or celery.  Just cook the chicken and the rice and mix the soup up with some milk so it's a little thicker than you would eat it as soup and there you go!  Steam up some veggies and you've got a whole meal.

  7. add salt and fried cumin seeds and butter to make the simplest pilaf.

  8. you can add veggies and "Vegetta"

  9. Omurice.

This is one of my comfort foods growing up, fairly easy to make.

this recipes is for 4 so just use a 1/4 amount for 1 serving. You can just minus the mushroom part and/or substitute with what ever you like.
