I need ideas for an adventure play day for children from age 3 to 11years and their parents? The event will take place on school premises during school time. I have a budget of £150 to spend can i also serve refreshments at the event?

  1. How about some kind of clue based treasure hunt/race. Something along the lines of blues clues (since you have little ones). You could have two sections/separate games. One a few w/ simplistic clues for little ones and a bigger more difficult one for the older children and parents. The parents and children have to work together to solve the clues and find the object/finish line. The give out prizes to the top three older group and the little ones/ and rest of older kids get some little prize for participation.

  2. go with the ideas that other people have already said, but firstly do a little survey on the kids and see what they like to do and what they like 2 eat and drink. obviously u cant ask 3 year olds, so ask their parents. u cant get everything every child wants , because of ur budget, so use the most popular ideas. GOOD LUCK! :)

  3. I suggest you only serve water to drink - there is a minefield of rules and regulations regarding allergies and the preparation of food - you need to have special qualifications and certificates, believe it or not, to even make sandwiches, and the food has to be prepared somewhere special.)   So get people to bring their own packed lunches.   (unless your school already has a food supplier - perhaps have a talk to them and discuss whether they can do a theme, based within your/their budget)

As for things to do, I suggest things like treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, making costumes (such as pirates hats), making paper planes (but you have to be careful where they are thrown!)

Also remember things like making robots out of boxes, finger painting, making puppets, building an adventure playground-***-obstacle course. Oh, and face painting! Perhaps children could paint their adults, and vice versa!

Why not ask the teachers at the school what they suggest for activities!   Could you ask each one to organise something for their class - but that other children can do, if you see what I mean!   After all, an 11-year-old will probably want to do totally different things to a 3 year old!    Are you doing an activity per room, so people can circulate?   Are you only inside, or also outside?

I wish you every success!!!!   I must admit it sounds like one of those things that sounds simple in outline, but very hard in practice!

  4. How about a variety of stalls with different activities like how many clothes pegs you can pinch on your fingers, catch the rat, jumble sale stall, cakes and jam stalls. There are  a lot more game stalls you could probably think of.

  5. well at the event you need food and drink, plus do like a scavenger hunt or a sort of game that can spread out into about 100 m or longer in distance, eg a field.

  6. Ideas:

    Treasure hunt,

    Bouncy Castle,

    "Sports Day" type events.

    Crafts

See if theres any way to have a petting zoo :)

Esle you can have a theme eg: pirates and the activities can be geared around that theme (canyou get pirate bouncy castle, treasure hunt, fancy dress etc).

On a budget you could ask parents/carers to bring things n such as refreshement: Can parents donate cakes? Ask local businesses for prizes for any competitions.
