What can i put with my oscar?

i have an ocar thats about 3.5 or 4 inchs long in a 55 gallon tank but can i put like a cat fish in there or a pleko or somthing? i do have a small cave thing in there a rocks for it to hide under

try a pacu. they get to be around the same size as oscars.

Oscars will grow fast to very large sizes. Oscars are compatible with Bigger Pacus, White Tip Sharks and Medium and Large Plecostomus. These fish will grow fast and soon need a 50-gallon aquarium with warm water. Eventually these fish will need an even bigger aquarium.

Your oscar is soon going to need a slightly larger tank. Most people keep a single oscar in a 75 gallon tank by themselves. If you want tankmates the best fish are ones that are either too fast for the oscar to catch, or too large to fit in the oscars mouth.

Plecos are decent choices, as are some of the catfish species. Just keep in mind, your tank may become too small for the oscar once it reaches 8-9 inches.

well ive seen a tank that had an oscar with a viriety of tankmates some of which i was shocked by but if you want to play it safe you need to make sure none of the fish you may add are small enough to be eaten

personally the catfish would be great as i have 2 myself with some malawis and they give the tank more depth and i have a group of 5 clowns which also look fantastic together

Usually cichlids don't bother larger plecos, in my experience. Clown loaches tend to do OK, too.
