  1. Hi.

I suggest you go to www.pcpitstop.com

Register as it is free & run their complete test. At the end they will tell you what is ok or not [as the case may be] what to do to put it right  AND then, there is a window giving you ALL the programs running on your machine & how important they areas well as if needed at Start up.

This ought to clean your PC & give you some room to manoeuver.

Also: Have you thought of compressing your files & folders,-- if you do not want to export them on an external Hard Disk? Do some research on this subject as it is not without some risk.

    These are some suggestions

    Good luck.

  2. Get a cache cleaner and use it regularly also a Registry cleaner to keep your PC at optimum performance.

  3. Deleting files can be tricky. The only 'safe' place is where you keep your documents. Usually C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\My Documents. Now I know that's not what you want to delete from. IF you want to get rid of the System Restore files, you can Right Click on MY Computer -> Properties, on the System Restore tab you can adjust the amount of space it can use or turn it off. I wouldn't turn it off, you've seen how useful it can be.

My Best Advice is to buy a second hard drive. Easy to install. If nervous about opening your case, get an external drive...like these..

  4. Would need to know which programmes you have running to be able to tell.

Have a look on  ' add remove programmes' you can safely remove toolbars and things like that.

If you press ctrl+alt+delete once you will get a box, click on processes and it will give you an idea of whats running in the background.

  5. Delete old restore points will give you gigs back.

Disk clean-up > more options > delete restore points > WAIT till the ok button becomes functional.

And dont worry, the last restore point is left on.

  6. Restart your PC in safe mode with networking

Download, install and run a full scan with Malwarebytes

Run a full scan with Micro Trend House Call

After the scans, restart the PC and update your anti-virus, remember to only have one anti-virus installed on your PC
