my fiancee is in army basic combat training, and i am just chomping at the bit to send him something. i know there are lots of rules, but one thing that means a lot to both of us is smell. when he was here, we would switch pillow cases at night if we werent sleeping in the same house so that we could smell each other. and as he was leaving for boot camp, i was going to give mine to him, but i forgot and he went without it, i want to send him my pillowcase so that he can smell me, but i want to know if he will get in trouble or if people will make fun of him, or if he will even get to keep it with him.

  1. Don't send anything except letters and maybe a photo or two.  He will be able to smell you on the letter.

If you send a pillowcase it will be confinscated and yeah I'm sure he will be made fun of and he doesn't want to be the center of the DI's attention.

  2. Just send letters that way you don't have to worry about him getting into trouble.  Pillowcases would not be a smart idea to send at all.

  3. Be very careful of what you send because everything sent is looked at. EVERYTHING! Oh and don't send junk food because he will be upset with you after his commanders get done drilling him.

  4. Try this link.

  5. They issue pillowcases, they're not going to let him have one from home.

A friend of mine went through Navy basic and said that one guy received a letter that made everyone else sick, but the guy receiving it liked it.  His girlfriend had apparently rubbed herself with the paper and sent it.

  6. i say rubbin a letter will be the only way he'll have to smell u...pillow case that's straight no!no!!!

  7. Naw, don’t sent the pillow case. i doubt strongly they will allow him to have it..  The Drill Sergeants love mail time. it is there time to make you look like a fool because of what your fam and friends send you. If you send PICs, send tasteful ones. my drill sergeants would inspect every letter they thought had pictures.

Send letters. Lots of letters. Send one everyday single day. Spray a little perfume on the letter. the drill Sergeants may give him a hard time about the smell but it’s nothing he won’t be able to handle.

And no snacks...  All the snacks that we received in basic went straight into the drill Sergeants office, never to be seen again. Letters is all he needs.

  8. I would tell him the latest news and things going on at home and maybe a snack.

  9. do not send him anything that will make him stand out. the last thing he needs is for the rdc to "notice" him. only send him letters, and maybe a picture, but not a dirty one or everyone will see. believe me the last thing he needs is extra night watch and extra pt. spray a small small small amount of your perfume on the letter.
