I first had a female representative form this company come to my door, explaining to me who she worked for and if she can just do a quick demonstration so she can get credit for it ( she gave me a 2 litter root beer) so After that I decided to let her do her quick demonstration, but she had another co-worker w/ her this time. She soon left, and it was only the male worker, named james, he soon went into his demonstration-mode by showing what all it can do.....

when he was finishing he called his boss and sayd that i wanted the vacuum ( wich i did not), not knowing what to do, or how to ask him to leve i came in complete shock, when the lady from before came back with all the paper work, making me sign everithing...

the next day i call their boos to cancel and for him to pick up the kirby, giving me 3 days to send the notice of cancelation, well since there was a 3 day weekend i was not able to send it last monday(sep-1- 2008) and the last day that they gave me was sep-3-08, ren to post office aqnd paid almost 17 dollars for it to get there tomorrow....

has any one had this experience? if yes please tell me what to do next, i alredy returned the vacuume, and sended the letter, is there anything else that i shoud know?

besides they gave me the used one insted of a brand new one

  1. Im sitting here in shock. They told you that you wanted the thing? Not to make fun of you but that sounds like a skit from Saturday Night Live!

Honestly i didnt even know that Kirby was still around-and i had no clue they still used door to door salesmen either. I remember those when i was a kid back in the 70s-i remember a guy coming to my Grandmas house and selling her a cleaner and my mom liked it so much she called up and ordered one. It stands out in my memory because the thing came with so many different attachments being a boy i was fascinated with it.

    Regardless--------------

I hope you kept copies of all of the paperwork, also i hope you mailed it back in to where you could get a proof of delivery when they get it. Otherwise they might just keep the cleaner and say they dont even know what you are talking about-that they never heard of you before.

Good luck, and from now on stand up for yourself-dont let yourself be pressured into buying things you are not certain about.

    EDIT:

After doing a quick search on Kirby-they sound like a absolutely horrible company. Check out this website-read some of the complaints:

  2. i worked for kirby for 2 weeks and realized exactly what you went through is what they do to everyone! they are NUTS!  lemme guess $1789+tax and thats it?  granted, the vacuum does work great, its not that great.  they do not ever sell a brand new one.  the ones they do the demos with, those are the ones they sell to customers.  the carpet shampooing part is amazing though.  i dont have any advice for you though. i got ripped off by them too.

  3. Yeah, sorry.  I used to have that job too.  I hated it, selling thing to people who couldn't afford or didn't want. But that is how they do buisness.

I think if you sent it back you,re clear.  They can't count days when they are not open to do the return.

  4. I worked for them people for like a day doing the demos , and they are supposed to call the boss but not to tell them you bought the thing  and i would have made them come get it and on top of that you should call the head because the did you bad wrong , and if i was you when he siad to his boss u wanted it i would have told him a few things ...and yeah they will give you a used one instead of a new one and the ones i was selling were liek $1879 , and  they do work good but  what happened to you is Bull s**t and seriously i wish you would call the head person and tell them a thing or two ...... when i was taking the courses to sell them they lied to us the first day and told us we wouldnt be going to peoples houses doing the demos and on the last day they gave us the kirby and told us we had to and that we were not to take NO for an answer and to keep pushing the people to get it and so on it is awful
