  1. Brandon,

Nyquil may help you fall asleep, but for my part I don't want anything in me that's not natural.

With our days now beginning to shorten, the lack of sunshine each of us is able to get sees the natural melatonin we produce decreased, especially so with every passing year.

I find that a cup of warm milk or a tea of hops, valerian root and passion flowers (without sugar) usually do the job quite well.  These last few herbs can be bought over the internet or at a good health food store. As for the Melatonin, that's sold over-the-counter in any pharmacy and is ever so much cheaper than either the combination of herbs or the Nyquil. There's little chance of overdose of this natural melatonin and I don't believe it's habit forming either.

Allow yourself time to "wind-down" prior to actually hitting the sheets. A warm bath (not hot) as part of your routine before sleep is also helpful. Do you meditate? Listening to Brahms is also good. You can also hypntise yourself telling yourself to close your eyes as each of your limbs become more and more relaxed, as your facial muscles and scalp becomes more relaxed, as your stomach and chest become more relaxed...you'll find yourself slowing down and wanting to fall asleep. Your sleep will be just as normal as ever with no problem waking up rested.

And last, but not least, commit a prayer you favor to memory and repeat it every night when you lie down. Repetition of this prayer is not only good for your soul, but also in a relaxed state you just drift off to sleep.

    Good Luck and Happy Dreams
