  1. The bags available to put vegetables and fruits in at the market are about the right size, and may stretch to give a pretty tight fit over your forehead.  Don't use this on a little kid though.

A plastic bag from the grocery will also work, and will be more generous at the opening.  You will need to twist it to fit and tuck the ends up under to get them out of the way.  I used such a bag to cover my hair when I was painting the ceiling on my porch.  Just be sure you don't get one with a hole in it.

You could also open the bag with a pair of scissors by flattening it out and cutting off the bottom, then wrapping it around your hair as if it were a towel.  pile it on top of your head, and clip it in place if you need to keep it secure.

I've seen elastic edged bowl covers that could work, but I think they would not be deep enough, and if you have to go out and buy them, just get a shower cap.

When I travel, I occasionally come across little caps in the hotel.  I rarely use them, but my mother does when she visits me, so I toss one in my travel kit, and it is there for her when she needs it.

  2. a garbage can

  3. Wrap your hair up in a towel.  You will need to try not to get the towel into the water, but it will do a fair job and they are handy.

  4. maybe a zip-lock bag or saran wrap? those are my guesses...

  5. Saran Wrap.

  6. A Zip-lock bag
