What can i use /buy to kill all the ants in my yard that is pet and child friendly?

i have tried most of the store bought brands i can find that are pet friendly and safe for my kids, bnut the ants just return the next week. They are taking over my yard and pourch and bite the kids, i just want something to get ride of them for good.

they are mostly the little ants, not the fire ants although i have a few of those but not as many.

help please, i want my yard back!

You want a product with the active ingredient Fipronil, packaged as Over N Out or Top Choice.

This product is very safe and will effectively control ants up to 12 months. But it is pricey.

I generally use Fipronil and a bifenthrin (one trade name Talstar) to control most surface pest.

I have a 4 year old and he loves the outside, but hates the ant bites.

But with the products above I generally find myself ant free the entire season.

Mix equal amounts Borax powder and sugar.  Sprinkle it in an area that you've seen ants.  The sugar attracts the ants, they pick the Borax up with it and carry it back to the colony where all the ants eat it and die.
