What can i use for organic at home materials that will help raise the NPK level in a soil?

is there anything I can use that can be found at the house (and also being organic) that will help raise nitrogen, phosphorus, and potash levels in soil?

what specifically would raise N, P, and K?

  1. Anything that will decompose can be used but some things have higher nitrogen content while others will have more potassium or phosphate. Micronutrients are also present but often not mentioned in nutrient analysis lists.

    Alfalfa meal or pellets are a common rabbit/horse feed and can be used as a fertilizer. Alfalfa is also rich in micronutrients and amino acids.

    Alfalfa meal or pellets has an N/P/K of ~ 2-1-2 and will release in 1- 4 months.

    Soybean meal ~ NPK analysis 7-2-1

    Coffee grounds 2-0.3-0.2 but acidic so are best composted first unless for acid loving plants.

    Egg shells ground or crushed 1.2-0.4-0.14 & trace elements

    If you know someone with rabbits the manure is wonderful for a garden and can be used without composting unlike cattle or horse manure.

    Compost all your kitchen scraps and your yard wastes as long as they do not have any disease or unwanted seeds.
