  1. You want something that is tough, but not so strong that it will destroy your board or edges. Metal is too hard and too slick - you can't use your edge to control your board. Lexan is very hard but it is also very brittle. Again, it is too hard and too slick - you can't use your edges.

Go a plastic store and get a sheet of HDPE (High-density polyethylene). Cheaper than Lexan and it has some give to it so it won't shatter. It this is hard to find, you can go to a home store and get recycled HDPE deck boards (like Trex) that will work almost as well as a sheet of new white HDPE.

    Good Luck

  2. it all depends, i would wrap it with sheet metal and than you coat that with s*x wax

  3. Very simple and this will hold up forever dude.  You need to go get some LEXAN(its like hi impact fiberglass SUPER BUTTERY).  ITs a little pricy but it will last a lifetime. Also make sure to get some outdoor rustolem and put like 10 coats of it on your 2x4 so you can somewhat weather proof it.   Also when you put the lexan on the wood, make sure to "counter sink" the screws so that you have nothing sticking out of the jib.

Trust me lexan is the way to go, check out my 360 page and u will see my homemade jib with lexan for the sliding surface

    HAPPY SHREDDING DUDE

  4. go to your local snowmobile dealer and by some hyfax its cheap and easy to work with just tell them the cheapest will work.
