  1. don't put a thing on them.

it could decrese your stopping power

  2. If you mean the braking surface, forget it. Stay clear of the contact patch. If you mean the bits that the pads don't touch, clean them with alcohol, and a clean rag. If you have any rusty patches, use a stainless wire brush to get the crud off of them. In essence, the only thing you should put near the rotors is pure alcohol, or CO2 contact cleaner, and let it COMPLETELY dry, before you go for a ride. If there's a build up of oil on the rotors, check the brakes for fluid leaks, and the fork seals for leaks, too.

  3. Don't mess with the safety equipment. If you make them "shine", you could DIE.

    Leave them alone!!!!

  4. DON'T I REPEAT DONT EVER PUT ANYTHING ON YOUR DISC ROTORS TO MAKE THEM SHINY!!!!!!! the best thing to do if you want them shiny is to use them!! as the brakes are applied they will take off any surface rust ok!

If you ever get grease or any other foreign substance on the rotors/discs they must be cleaned off........ go to a good work shop (don't drive the vehicle there) and tell them what's on the discs and ask then to recommend a cleaner for the discs buy it from them and listen to or better yet read and stick to the instructions when cleaning they are important and the brakes actually should stop you they are there to Save your life so RESPECT THEM

  5. Im pretty sure you want to polish your rotors right if thats the case take them to a polisher or chrome plater in your area that does motorcycle parts and the will polish them for you unless they are iron or steel then your out of look and need to buy aftermarket stainless rotors (just tell me what bike you have and Ill let you know), and about the stopping distance after about 30 or 40 seconds the braking area will be just as rough as before you did it so that is not an issue.
