my problem is the antenna connector on the back of my tv broke off. I opened the tv and soldered the wires straight to the tv by passing the connectors, that works ok but Id like to have some sort of device that the coax can plug into and come out as rca and plug into one of the tv inputs. What can do this and where can i get one?

  1. Is this an older T.v?  If it is older and u get the new black box it will not work-u will have to undo the antenna wires and use a coupler then do a split into that black thing.

You can get a converter box at Wal-mart for about 19-20bucks .It will allow you to just route a co-ax, into or connect your dvd,etc if using an older tv that does not have the yellow, white, and red plug-ins for input, etc. Good luck.  May have to re-piece back together.

However-I just put together an analog tv with that black box the GOV. will require-and WOW-the picture is so perfect...looks like a new T>V>  but you have to have a antenna in cable -so looks like you will have to re-splice and cupple to run into that box...it is very sensitive....good luck

  2. well, you would need to convert the signal from analog to digital, they sell little boxes that do that, thats what i'd recomend

  3. The coaxial F connector is RF (Radio Frequency).  The RCA connectors to which you refer are video and audio.  The device that converts RF to video/audio is a tuner/demodulator.  An old VCR would work for this if you are working with analog over the air, cable or older consumer equipment.
