  1. In the last place I lived there was lots of possums and they never touched any veges I had growing, they were more interested in leaping loudly onto the roof in the middle of the night!

  2. Possums are scavengers of dead animals, they probably aren't going to mess with your vegetables.  I spent most of my life surrounded by them and I've never heard of one eating any type of vegetable. If you've got possums, then you've probably got deer, and that's a completely different story.  To keep deer out you'll need to completely cover those veggies.  Chicken wire works most times.

  3. A shotgun!.

    Seriously though some chicken wire.

  4. Chicken wire is your best bet- Especially if you can bury the bottom edge of it so critters (not just possums) won't dig in.

    Good luck!

  5. Bunnings have a product called possum-off (or something like that) my dad said it works well for possums and kangaroos. Or you could try mixing up hot chilli with water and spraying it on whatever they are eating and they will soon stop, just make sure you wash them well before you eat them.
