What can i use to get rid of fleas on my ferrets?

Question

my ferrets have lots of fleas but dont have ferret food right now, and i go to a place online to order it but it will take too long, is there anything else that is safe to use on a ferret to get rid of at least some of these pesty fleas? my first ferret, mischief, is acting real sick and they are always scratching, and she looks so sad and she is always just laying there, and that is not like her at all, please someone help me

Do NOT use any pet store approaches for fleas on ferrets.  I'd hate to have to tell you how many ferrets have had fatal marrow suppression from that.  It's not inevitable but it sure isn't unusual.

There are approaches your vet can sell such as Frontline or Revolution which will do the trick
