What can i use to make bathroom rugs that i can wash in the machine nearly 3 times a week?

I'm potty training my boy and he pees EVERYWHERE! i need them to be specific color....and i would like them to be good water absorbing rugs, my floor has a ton of grout and it shouldnt get wet that often. plus the pee soaks in! the joys of motherhood! :) i would like them to lay flat, so he doesnt trip over the curled corner... thanks for any and all help!

  1. Why not use towels?  Better yet............ yellow towels.


  2. You will need rubber backed so the littlle guy doesn't trip.  You can safely wash them but you cannot! dry them.  Get a print ..... Hides better.

How about if you buy the towel kind of bath mats at Walmart and sew two of them together.  That should make it thicker and more absorbent.  The rubber backings on regular mats will degrade quickly with too much washing.  Now, for the bad news:   my experience with male units is that this problem will not get much better.  However, I did teach my son 30 years ago to "shoot the rabbit".  Take a long piece of toilet paper and tie it in an open loop thing so you have what looks like a head and ears. Float the "rabbit" in the toilet.   Then tell him to shoot the rabbit.  No kidding, it works pretty good.  

  4. Your best bet are the rubber backed ones.  If you dry them in the dryer too much the rubber will get brittle.
