  1. Use a generator

  2. how many hp is your compressor?  how often is it running in a one hour cycle?

You could run a compressor off one 12v battery just not as long as you could run it off two :P

  3. it is not clear what type of compressor you are referring to.....if it is a toy....compressor or industrial compressor...

Compressor can be driven by any motor -AC or DC. It depends how much it may require for it is based on the size and capacity of the compressor, including design.

from the query think it is a small toy type compressor,....keep increasing the power with a regulator....see at what point it starts functioning.

  4. You have not supplied a lot of information about your compressor, so making the following assumptions:

    1. It is driven by a 12 Volt motor.

    2. You have no access to mains electricity.

The best power source would be a fully charged 12 volt car battery. In this instance you do not need any transformer or regulator, just a means of connecting the compressor motor to the battery, croc clips maybe. Observe correct polarity ie + to + and - to -. If possible incorporate a fuse in the circuit.

Take great care not to short circuit leads when connected to the battery. Always connect battery last.

  5. Read on ur compressor wat its rating!

check the voltage, .. single or three phase!

and look for a transformer if the voltage is not applicable,,

Transformer transfers form AC to AC...if u dont have AC power n the only thing available is battery,,then use inverter.. ( DC to AC)

    or go for generator.
