have a chinese recipie but no dry sherry

  1. If you have no rice wine you could add a touch of vinegar


  2. Sake will also work, also if you have an Asian grocery store near you, they might carry Mirin, which is Japanese cooking wine, the flavor won't be exactly the same, but it should still be pretty awesome.

  3. just replace it with a dry wine (white)

  4. Probably the best thing is just to leave it out. It will work OK.

    Dry sherry is itself a substitute for the Chinese wine used in the original recipe.
