What can i use to seperate telephone wire strands and keep them 100% dry?

i have a telephone house wire that got cut in two that runs outside and i just want to cover and seperate the ends so that there is no shorting or grounding keeping the water out,what can i buy that is made for this?

do not use wirenuts they are not for landlines. there are ones that are for landlines. called 3M Scotchlok. you can buy a small pack at a hardware store.

Epoxy or silicone sealant, which you might have on hand.

There are waterproof splice kits that you can buy, though.

if i were you i'd put some wire nuts on the wires and tape the ends of the wire nuts to keep water out of the wire nuts.

he wasn't putting the wires together he was seperating them that is why i suggested wirenuts not scotchlocks. i'm a liscensed electrician and we use scotchlocks but not for this instance
