Question:

What can i wear to a funeral?

its my grandads funeral. i would usually ask whats appropriate to my parents but seen as I'm 300miles away its a bit difficult. can someone give me some links to high street shops with some appropriate things to wear?

I'm 20, an hourglass, size 16/18 on top an 18/20 bottom. i would prefer a dress or skirt, but i don't want to look S****y or frumpy. i want to be able to wear the outfit (or pieces) again as I'm a student with very little money. i have quite an eclectic dress sense, i love layering. i cant order on-line so has to be in-store.

sorry if this seems an insensitive question but its cause I'm such a tight budget and i don't want to upset the family in something too short or frumpy.

Must be UK links.

  2. Sorry to hear about your grandad. It's not a fashion parade, no-one will criticise what you wear, something plain and dark will do, you don't have to invest in a costly black suit if you don't have one. No bling and turn your mobile off . . .

Just be there, quiet and respectful.

  3. something black or a dark color is prefer for most funeral. you can mix and match colors but try to keep them dark. maybe a dress or a skirt. make sure the dress or the skirt is past you knees or close to it. try to keep it modest.

  4. Anything black works ..............and being there

Nothin else matters and no-one is exactly going to be grieving on your choice of fashion are they

  5. well i would say a funeral is no place to make a fashion statement. wear a conservative dress. duh........................

  6. A dress like this would be perfect..

You could team it with some lace tights if you wanted to show off your eclectic side and add in some nice black heals.

If you didnt want to go all back you could wear a different shade cardigan.

    Hope it goes alright.

  10. Hi! I'm sure there's millions of shops you could go to, but I think you should try Evans because My mum goes there for larger fitting clothes. I don't know any other shops or what to wear, but they have nice selections of clothing there.

My mum got some boots for £25 when they were supposed to be 90something pounds.

    Hope this helps x
