What can my 7yr old son make for egg comp theme is new life?

Please dont say chick lol he really wants something different .The whole school making baby animals and babys etc.

this once when i was at primary school...i did my headmaster as a baby...this kinda worked well as he was kinda bald. the headmaster should find it funny and it still kinda ties in with the newlife/baby theme. defo a winner! put like a nappy on it and stuff but still make it obvious who it is.

I have a walnut tree in my yard and squirrels will bury the nuts.  Sometimes when they sprout and I pull them the whole nut is still there, with the little tree growing from it.  Your son could paint or cover the egg shell to resemble a nut shell and find a tiny sapling (or twig, but it would be cooler to have the roots and all) to insert to show the germination process.  There might be some complications in keeping it perky for long enough but that shouldn't be insurmountable, just misting it would probably work.  At least it wouldn't be another chicky, ducky, bunny etc.

How about using a few eggs, joining them together by string and making a life cycle. Starting with the birth and so on. One part of the cycle for each egg.

maybe like a real chick, paint the egg yellow, give it 2 yellow feathers and make a beak, then put on 2 google eyes and some orange pipecleaners 4 legs
