  1. My neighbors and I used to make up our own little dorky games, but they were fun at the time.  Kids also enjoy learning a new game (can be found online).  My brother, friend and I also enjoyed drawing little towns with houses and stores and malls on the driveway and using matchbox cars and having our own home and work.  We would always try to have the nicest house, take turns picking cars so everyone has the nice ones and the not so nice ones, the 10 and 7 yr old may enjoy that (I'm a girl and still likes cars).  Sprinklers are always fun, and they are cheap so if you have a few you can rotate so they don't get boring after a few days; water guns are fun too.  You could also set up a scavenger hunt for them, maybe buy them each something and they have their own thing to find, and also use item from around the house and yard for them to find, do it as a group or each child has their own..  Have you hear of Sardeens (it is like the opposite of hide and seek, because one person hides and the rest look and when one kids finds the hider, they pretend to look in another place or two, then sit at a certain spot and wait until everyone else finds the person hiding, and take turns hiding).   they could have a daytime camping trip in the back yard, they can make their lunch for a picnic, make a fort/tent in the yard, have smores (with fluff instead of marshmallows so they don't have to cook) for dessert, they can tell stories, hang out in their fort.  They can look for bugs, get the whole neighborhood together for group games once a week (volley ball, kickball, handball, w/e they like).  Do they have a sand box, the 7 yr old might like that.  Set up an obstacle course in the yard, or let them set one up, then time how long each kid takes to go through it, maybe add something slightly harder for the older to to level out the playing field.  My neighbors had a great deck for doing plays/ music videos, it was just like a stage, they spent hours putting things together to show all the neighbors at picnics.  hope i helped.

  2. I also like the idea of hide-and-seek;my kids love it (5,10 and 14.)  The little golf sets are fun.  Tag is a faithful standby.  Mine enjoy kickball too; they can't cause too much damage to anyone else's property with the playground balls.I know it may sound silly but they honestly enjoy grasshopper hunting and rock collecting.  It's actually pretty cute.  Kids are cool and pretty clever, toss 'em on out there.  They usually figure it out.  If you are like me though, you will want to keep an eye on them.  Kids have a knack for finding trouble too.  Strangers, other kids with poor supervision, bees, bumps, bruises etc...

I, like you, have trouble coming up with activities that everyone will enjoy but like I said, they usually figure it out & have fun doing it.  It never ceases to amaze me.

    Baseball.

  10. go to the pool

  11. Tag, catch, hide n seek, wall ball, go for a walk, yard work, play with the dogs (if you have any), basketball, volleyball, racing, remote control cars, etc.

  12. What's wrong with bikes and jump rope?

    How bout:

    hide & seek

    tag

    go to the playground

give them a jar and poke holes in the lid; let them catch bugs

    mow the lawn

    play soccer

    frisbee anyone?

Put kids outside once a while and they magicially can figure these things out on their own.  I remember doing them all as a kid, but I don't remember ever getting a manual.  Throw em outside they'll figure it out.

Then you can clean the house spotless and prepare an awesome family dinner for them and your husband.
