Question:

What can my primary care doctor do for my hemorrhoids?

I'm really pretty fed up with my hemorrhoidal pain. I've had pain, burning, itching, and minor bleeding for four months. I've only tried Prep H and witch hazel with no relief and no improvement. What else is there left to try? Someone else on here said to squeeze a lemon in a glass of milk first thing in the morning and drink it. Does that really work? Am I wasting my time going to the doctor? I really want to avoid surgery if at all possible. But I can't even sleep at night now, the pain is so bad. I feel rather embarrassed going to the doctor for this but I could really use some relief!

  1. Don't be embarrassed - lot's of people have this problem from a lot of different sources. It's an embarrassing thing for you to think about because it's your rear.... doctors don't think twice about it though. It's very common and easily treated with the right help. If you've tried to self medicate and it's not working go to the doc - they can give you a Rx to make it stop hurting and start healing up. I don't think you can ever get completely rid of them without surgery but they can be managed so you don't have the pain and discomfort. I had this problem when I was preggers and I know it's horrible. Call your doctor and let him/her help.

  2. Try Rue Care Oil. It has delivered good results in cases when Prep H and other treatment options failed. It's all natural (Prep H contains also pharmacological ingredients), shrinks the hemorrhoids, stops bleeding and strengthens the veins.

  3. Is your primary care doctor a specialist in that field ? If not, ask for a referral to one. You want to avoid surgery if possible. I know the pain of surgery, the time of recovery and being restricted from working and other day-to-day activities is no picnic, But, after 4 months of all the pain and other totally annoying symptoms, surgery and getting it finally resolved would be relief in itself, wouldn't it ?

  4. Never heard of lemon/milk thing.  Sounds like you have internal hemorrhoids.

You need surgery.  Don't be embarrassed.  Just think how many procedures the doctor does on hemorrhoids.  You will get rid of all the pain & discomfort.

Then add fiber to your diet, 25-30 grams/day. So you will be regular & can avoid getting more hemorrhoids.  Remember to drink plenty of fluids daily.
