  1. a tongue-in-cheek, pre-school version of swan lake. my son did at age 5 and it was delightful!!! would love to see it again. best of luck to you whatever you decide, grmmynet

  2. Get a coloring page of a swan and some craft feathers.  Let them have a ball gluing feathers to make a pretty swan (for the fun of it, I would have different color feathers, even though you and I know you're not likely to run into a swan that is naturally fuschia)

Tell the story of the Ugly Duckling (grew up to be a swan)

If you can find an upbeat excerpt of the music from Swan Lake, put it on and let them "dance" to it

  3. They can have a splash fight, if supervised.

  4. You could introduce them to Swan Lake. Teach them basic ballet/swan movements. Have them do a little performance.

I hope that I helped you out.

  5. Hi

I own and run a childrens nursery and thought I would give you a few activity ideas for swans......

Making a paper swan from oragami - very simple. Each child needs a square of paper, they need to be shown how to fold in and up two corners so you have like a flat ice cream cone shape, then fold the pointed tip back over the rest with it coming a little out of the shape, then fold about an inch of it forward again. Now bend the whole thing in half down the vertical centre back the way, not up. then teast out the long section and you have a swan. Its very hard to describe in writing but is very very easy, just make sure to press each edge firmly. These could be decrated with markers before hand so they have a lovely individual swan.

Making a swan from hand and foot prints.....using black paper, do a childs foor with white paint and make a print. Turn this up so the heel is at the top. thene using whote paint again get the child to do two handprints, one either side to make the wings. Then get the child to free paint a long neck and a circle for the head. using yellow paint add a beak and legs. wobbly eyes finish these off very nicely too.

Music and movement........let the children listen to the music of Swan lake, ask them what they thing its about, is it fast, slow? how should they move to it. After exploring that theme, tell the children the simplified story of swan lake, then listen to the music again telling the story along to it, letting the children act it out as they wish.

Anyway hope these help. if you get stuck on the oragami swan, I'm sure if you reserach it online you will get pictures showing you how.
