Just start with a statement on how you turned out.  Something, like "Who would have ever thought a boy like me would've grown up to run a Fortune 500 company."  That gives a hook to your audience that makes them wonder what you were like when you were young.

I learned that the hard way and had to really crunch to get an essay in, but it turned out great because I really thought hard about it and worked on it without help from anyone.
