What can someone do if they know my social security number?

Someone mistakenly forwarded my job application instead of a blank application to several other people. It had a lot of personal information on it (name, address, ssn, etc). What can I do to ensure that this information will not be misused?

  2. Call the credit bureaus and report fraud early and explain to them what happen..

    When somenoe gets a hold of your SSN, they can do anything and mess up your good credit and when the fraud happens it's very hard to get your credit back on track...

  3. Contact the three credit bureaus and get on a fraud alert.  This means that anytime a line of credit, account or anything to do with your credit is opened, you will be contacted first to verify it is you.
