  1. www.ssa.gov has info on SSI.

  2. You said you applied, have you been approved? The reason I am asking is, just  because you applied, there is no guarantee that you will get approved first time.  The  main  thing that Social Security goes by is, how many months or quarters you  have worked as you have to have worked so many before you can qualify for SS benefits.

If you are approved, depending which state you are in will determinie if  you get state medical coverage or not, and then after a certain amount time, you will be covered by medicare.  It is possible that you would get help with rent, food, etc.

Are you still working? If so, that will effect SSI income. Remember, just because you applied, does not mean you will get it.  At 18, I seriouslly doubt that you are that disabled by MS yet.

    Take care

PS. Call the SS office where you are to find out answers to  your questions or go to the social security website.
