  1. Nothing.

Currently Toyota WANT to make more Prius.  But they just can't get enough batteries made in time.

It isn't that companies DON'T want to make more hybrids.  It is that they just don't have the capacity to switch gear fast enough to make them.

    Good Luck...

  2. Reject, by not buying, en masse, the gas guzzling non-hybrid models.

You'd get the cars you want faster than an auto exec could utter the name Ralph Nader.

  3. Just what they are doing, pissing and moaning about gas prices and buying Priuses, Escape Hybrids, Camry Hybrids, etc.

It doesn't really need to be done, most manufacturers have hybrids and are in the process of introducing new hybrid models.

What I don't get is why people like you seem to think that making hybrids is the answer when a car from 15 years ago with a gas engine can make 55mpg on the highway and like 48 in the city. That would be the Honda Civic VX Hatchback.

Why not support better technologies like CVT transmissions? or more efficient internal combustion engines?
