What can the rest of the world do to help zimbabwe?

robert mugabe is a right t**t,he has really ruined that country,it used to be the "breadbasket of africa" what can the rest of the world do to get him out of power and to help the country in terms of poverty,hyper inflation and so on.

I think we're going to have to be ready with the sanctions and completely illogically, the aid, but just basically stay out of the way. He ain't keen on Brits. With a bit of luck he'll be overthrown from within or there will be a military coup or something. It's bad right now, but it could be worse.

Now here's the cynical bit. We'd be over there already if there was some oil in it for us huh? Ain't that a fact.

they should have done what is done in Iraq. However the Yanks will not go as there is no oil and the exports that made Rhodesia have all dried up due to the inept actions of Mugabe. If the Yanks don't go they will stop anyone else going, as they did at Suez in the 50's, so that until some native of that country actually kills Mugabe or he dies the situation stays the same. However don't expect any change when he goes as the military will not be relinquishing power and no doubt another Idi Amin will rise to take his place.

As I see it as long as there was loot to pass out Mugabe was a hero.  Maybe everyone doesn't deserve the government they get but the majority does.

His moves to redistribute the wealth in Zimbabwe were widely supported by the citizens of Zimbabwe.  They have no one to blame but themselves.   I say leave them to reap what they have sown.

Given the present on-going disaster in Zimbabwe under that moron Mugabe, I think the MDC was right to decide not to fight the next election.  

Too many of its supporters have already suffered enough- indeed, too many have given up their lives in an effort to dislodge this brutal dictator!  Given that free and fair elections are obviously now impossible, the MDC have taken the right course of action.

However, the MDC now need to do more- to provide the people with hope for a better and brighter tomorrow.  Given their immediate past success at the last election, the MDC would be fully entitled to form a government in exile, outside Zimbabwe!

The Mugabe regime cannot last forever- given its parlous economic state, with inflation running at over 100,000%!  Therefore, by providing hope for a future Zimbabwe, free from terror and maladminstration, they would give the people something to live for through all the present horrors!

When Ian Smith declared UDI back in the '60s, Rhodesia as it was then called, received propaganda broadcasts from Francistown, in Botswana.  Something similar, as the Voice of Free Zimbabwe, might work wonders for the people at this time.  

And that, as the voice of a Zimbabwe government in exile, would be significant, and highly symbolic, of the people's will to enjoy their freedom once more, post-Mugabe!  Further, a government in exile, might find more support among those presently so reluctant to intervene directly against Mugabe.

At the moment, most international news about Mugabe comes from sources he can easily declare to be imperialist or from imperialist lackies.  News aimed at Zimbabwe from such a free voice, being from exiled Zimbabweans, he could not so decry.  Mugabe regualarly parades his credentials as an ex-freedom fighter.  How much would he be undermined by the free Voice of Zimbabwe!

You as a good caring person can lobby your government to remove sanctions as they are killing off the black people there. It would be your Christian duty. After all why do you worry about Zimbabwe? Surely you have these black kiddies interests at heart? Or is it the white farms that cause you so much grief?

freeze all the billions of dollars Mugabe and his friends have stolen, take their houses abroad, issue warrants for their arrest for when they travel to Europe as they can't help coming on shopping sprees with their wives, mistresses and girlfriends and expel their children from the colleges in the West..that will sort this situation out..they will have no money, be unable to travel and struggle to buy food like their own people..within weeks Mugabe's cronies will remove him..
