  1. Rhubarb LEAVES contain oxalic acid.  Do a search on the toxicology of oxalic acid and you'll have your answer.  The short answer is that eating enough oxalic acid can kill you.


  2. If memory serves, it is related to the alkaloids in potatoes.  They harm your ability to use fat among other things.  It can kill you.
