  1. yes eat PB and J! no sour cream. and you can eat bread as long as you read ingredients first. most bread doesnt have milk or eggs in it buut you have you be careful. just read everything before you buy it and becoming vegan will be the easiest transition of your life.

also be sure to check labels to see if there is leather or fur or wool or silk in any clothing or shoes you buy. i would recommend downloading a list of animal ingredients from PETA (this is the best one ive found) and keep it with you while shopping so you can be sure that some weird long word in the ingredients list doesnt turn out to be animal charcoal or something icky. (companies like to hide the real ingredient with long complicated names that no one can pronounce to fool the consumers)

also get yourself a vegan cookbook and start cookin'! itll save you money and you get to be creative annnnd surprise your friends with how delicious vegan food can be!!

    happy veganism!

  2. No Meat, Dairy, Eggs, Milk. Nothing of the animal or that comes from the animal. They also don't wear thing that come from animal products. ie leather, fur, etc

you can't jello either because its made from animal bones (im serious)

there are plenty of faux vegan foods to eat though at your local grocery.

  3. take it easy. first, just find the reason why would u to be avegan?

i think we may eat anythink that halthy for us.halthy thinks is not only vegetarian. OK, i'll give you refference, klik this site :

  4. all they eat are vegetables, soy, tofu, and take lots of vitamins.

  5. vegans cant eat ANY animal products at all. that means NO meats, dairy, fish, eggs.

pretty much all vegans can eat are vegetables, soy, and tofu.

    good luck

    hope this helped :o)

  6. Vegans do not eat ANY animal products, and that includes sour cream.

Most vegans I know extend their beliefs to refusing to use anything made of leather (shoes, belts, handbags, luggage, furniture, etc.) or animal hair.

  7. ABSOLUTLEY NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS sorry this includes sour cream

what is really good it soy beans mashed mived with tomatos , cucumbers, and eggpland so GOOD!

    best of luck,

    Calii

  8. Let me ask you this: Why would you become vegan if you don't even know what it is?

If you think it'll make you look "cool" in front of your friends, believe me, it won't, they'll all make fun of you behind your back and sneak meat products into your food.

Anyway, being vegan means you don't eat anything that comes from an animal whatsoever. So yes, this means no peanut butter (butter is made from milk, which comes from a cow), no jellies (gelatin comes from cow and horse hooves, as do marshmallows), no sourcream (cream comes from milk too), so cheese (milk), no yogurt (milk), no ramen (broths made from chicken and/or beef fat), no gravy, no stuffing (even if you get regular stuffing, it's still made with chicken stock), etc.

And it's super hard to eat out because you don't know what's been simmer or cooked in what, or what juicy piece of steak was on the same grill your portabello mushroom was on.

It's absolutely not worth it. You lose your immune system, you become grey, you become sickly, and your boyfriend will end up sticking chicken in your pasta, only to tell you an hour later you broke your six-year streak.

  9. Check the ingredients on the peanut butter and jelly, but it should be alright.  Bread usually contains milk and/or eggs but you can find some that don't, usually the cheaper ones.  Sour cream is definitely dairy.

I am transitioning to veganism too.  I went shopping for vegan groceries for the first time last weekend.  It took about forever, because I had to read the ingredients on everything, but that's what you need to do, especially in the beginning.

  10. As I'm sure you all ready know, vegans don't eat dairy, eggs, meat or honey (insects are animals too).

For information on why honey is not vegan visit:

Veganism is not simply a matter of dietary choices, we also

endeavour not to use animal products and by-products of any kind, for any purpose. This includes not wearing leather, wool, silk etc. You don't have to throw out your entire wardrobe but as things wear out, try to replace them with cruelty free alternatives :)

The trap for many new vegans is the "hidden" ingredients.

Common products which often contain animal products are:

Chewy lollies (Gelatin, same as gummy beats)

Soaps and other cosmetics (Animal fat)

Beer, Wine and Cider (Processed using, fish and egg products)

    Sugars (Processed using bone char)

    Breads (Whey, milk solids)

(Note: there are vegan options for all these products, you just need to do a little research and find out which brands are ok)

Peanut butter is vegan (its just peanuts, no butter)

Jelly (should be ok but check for gelatin)

Bread (fine as long as it doesn't contain milk solids, whey etc)

Sourcream (sorry, this one isn't vegan: milk products and often gelatin as well)

Your best bet is to check ingredients lists (you get faster as time goes on, trust me)

A full A-Z list of animal products (including chemical names) to be aware of can be found at:

I am in awe of anyone who has them all memorised!

This link provides a handy-dandy list of animal ingredients (including chemical names and e numbers) that you can store on your ipod.

The staggering amount of animal ingredients found in everyday products can be overwhelming, especially for a new vegan. Don't stress too much about it, just try to inform yourself, and slowly work animal friendly alternatives into your everyday life. If you can track down a copy of the book 'vegan freak' - I highly recommend it to anyone considering veganism!

Best of luck and remember: veganism is about giving a d**n, not being perfect.

    Here are some good recipes:

Stir fry- You need cut up tofu, soy sauce, olive oil, steamed veggies, and cooked rice

Get a frying pan and coat it with olive oil. The put the tofu in the pan and brown each side of it. Next, add the veggies. Add a little soy sauce and put in the rice. Mix everything up and then let it sit on the stove, occasionally stirring it to make sure it doesn't burn. After about a minute and a half of that put it in a bowl and enjoy!

Hummus- chick peas, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, black pepper, and any other spices/seasonings you like

Puree the chick peas. Then add a little lemon juice, paprika, pepper, and other spices. Then stir. Serve with a pita, with cucumbers, or on a veggie wrap.

Here are some snack and dinner suggestions:
